Ski season has arrived in Mammoth Lakes, and we are excited to celebrate this year’s winter season with several Mammoth Mountain events. There is always something happening on the slopes, from family-friendly festivals to skiing competitions and magical fireworks displays. Dec. 11: Tannenbaum Classic XC Race

Kick off the winter season with this cross-country race at Tannenbaum. Distances range from 1-10km, so everyone in the family can join in on the fun! 

Dec. 17: Night of Lights

Mammoth Mountain's Night of Lights celebration ushers in the holiday season every year. The free event is held at Canyon Lodge, offering fireworks, live music, kids’ activities, and a torchlight parade. Witness the fireworks light up the Sierra sky this holiday season and purchase tickets to the exclusive rooftop viewing area here. 

Dec. 31: New Years Celebration

Ring in 2023 at The Village at Mammoth with this family-friendly New Years’ eve celebration. The celebration begins in the afternoon with live music, kid-oriented activities, and tasty treats. This event ends with a magical firework show over the mountains.

Feb. 1: Toyota US Snowboard & Freeski Grand Prix

The best skiers and snowboarders from around the world will return to Mammoth Lakes for the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix Slopestyle and Halfpipe World Cups. This cup is the last Olympic tryout event that paves the way for qualifying for the Olympic Teams.

Events Throughout the Ski Season

Mammoth Mountain hosts several events that are available throughout the ski season. 

 

• Weekend Apres Party: You can join the free apres party at Canyon Lodge every Friday and Saturday. This lasts from 2-5 and includes food, drink specials, and DJ music.

• Woolly’s Dance Party: If you are looking for family-friendly mountain events, join the dance party in the village for music, complimentary cocoa, and photos.
