How to Get to Mammoth Mountain in Winter

Driving to Mammoth Lakes

The drive to Mammoth Lakes offers a spectacular tour of the Eastern Sierra, winding along mountains, glacial lakes, and forests. Mammoth Lakes is within five hours of several major cities via Hwy 395, including:

  • Reno: 170 miles

  • Sacramento: 235 miles

  • San Francisco: 320 miles

Flying to Mammoth Lakes

If you travel from out of state, we recommend flying into the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport in Bishop. The airport is 45 miles south of Mammoth Lakes and offers connecting flights from several major U.S. cities. You can reserve car rentals or transfers from the airport to the mountain. How to Get Around Mammoth Lakes

Once you have arrived at Mammoth Lakes, you can easily get around town using the complimentary shuttle service.
